Sometimes...

Whenever I think about the negative things that occur in my life I think about the positives as well, but it's hard to focus on good things when bad things usually happen. You see, I am a good Christian man who has always done the right thing in life but I have seen and experienced nothing but evil in this world. The Bible is replete with words of encouragement to Christians when they feel the world is against them, as it ALWAYS will be, but sometimes I feel the hand of the Devil at work in me because of all the negativity and evil that occurs. Every day it's bad news and more bad news, it's people being hurt, people being exploited, cheated out of things unfairly, children being abused, animals being neglected... it's just too much sometimes. Nothing seems to work out and now that we're living in the last days it's just getting worse and worse and will get VERY BAD before it all ends. I just feel like I can't go on sometimes, the trials are heavy and they weigh on my shoulders. How many God-fearing Christians out there feel the same way as me? I want to go to my Church and pray and talk to my Pastor but it's just so dark and I can't see the light always. What do any good Christians out there do when things are rough?

Religious Holiday Hope It was Peaceful

I hope everyone had a safe, healthy and peaceful holiday, whatever your religion may be.

Whenever I get into discussions/debates with those who are not spiritual, who perhaps don't believe in a higher power of some sort, I remind them that they have nothing to lose and everything to gain by praying. It doesn't cost anything and at the very least they can get some stuff off of their chest. It hurts no one and no one has to know, so why not give it a shot. Even though they may not believe in God, I'm sure He believes in them.

just stand...

well... it is a new day and i am besides myself... but you know what when you dont know what to do and you do all you can it is best to just stand.... and let the Lord just lead and guide you... because if i start that self pity crap it will be what about me? poor me??? well Ing snap out of this... God has brought you toooooo far to just say i am done... and he does not do that... with your tongue you speak life just as you speak death... the negativity you would speak can cause so to say death and the positivity can per say speak life... i choose to just say nothing more if i cant just say something for the good of me... or shall i be real very real and say i am really gonna try... i am human and have err but i also love God... and by his son Jesus stripes i am already healed... the same miracles he did back in the old day still exists in this new day.. there is nothing new under the sun or the son... just think... what man do u know in the world that would lay down his life for all of us??? hmmmm i sure cannot think of any..... God is not selfish... he knew those people in the old testament could not keep the freaking law so he said let me create my son and send him..give them new... and so he did... his son came and sacrificed his own life for each and every one of us... and therefore all i can say is thank you... he took every affliction... every sin... everything...yet more and more diseases are being found and more and more people are becoming more out there... weirded out... sad really it is.... God despite my circumstances i still want to say thank you... and i will still stand on your word and just keep saying it to myself and believing....you have never led me astray and i know u do things in your timing...

Mudras

A mudra is a symbolic gesture made with the body or just the fingers in Hinduism and Buddhism for ritual purpose. Health and Yoga provides a short list along with pictures for some of the basic hand mudras that have health benefits. (For those who would like more in-depth mudras links can be provided as needed).

Ekikasevens prayers

Thid one is for you Ekikaseven, I believe with all my being that your heartfelt prayers for my Kevin have been so instrumental in his recovery. I have never seen him so eager to work at getting his health back. It's almost as if he is driven to make sure he does all the things his doc has perscribed for him. He no longer has fear of not waking up and he is full of plans for our future and whats more, I believe him. My fear of losing him has slowly gone but not all the way and I think that is the way it should be. I can't thank you enough for the words of g-d you said for him and myself. You are such a treasure to all of us here and your words of prayer are not to be taken lightly. We all owe you so much as you have helped to part this world and cradled us during the healing process. I personally do not know what I wouldhave done without you and your prayers when Kevin went through his heart attack and stroke. You have even made a huge difference in my stubborn old spirit and brought new light into my soul/ and for that G-d bless you. my love sheshe030

Path to Recovery

Help me assist in the recovery of a disabled friend not capable of making sound decisions on their own (intellectually or emotionally--maybe it's just my opinion)!

Is there such a thing as helping too much?  Accountability from a disabled person is an issue for me.

It's hard to know for sure whether i am overstepping my boundaries.  I often feel I am..but isn't it better than not doing enough and having regrets.

These are my favorite sites! Check 'em out.  Stop and take a look!  They could help.

Spirituality Is Not a Four-letter Word

Polls record that a majority of Americans consider themselves "Spiritual but not religious."  We are a country of many faith systems.  All acknowledge a thing greater than ourselves.  Some  are very vocal and can be grating in their enthusiasm.  Others are quiet and walk softly.

Spirituality is that deepest yearning of the human heart to be satiated with love, contentment and profound, quiet joy.  It is the awe of that which cannot be grasped or described, however noble the attempt of  learned philosopher, anointed clergy or gaunt mystic .   It is the "still, small voice" that murmurs within when the mind sheds its cares and the body stops its mad, hurried, daily gyrations.  Spirituality is the practice of  liberating the spirit within  to soar towards the Spirit that holds all in loving embrace.   And while in that embrace of prayer, to sing the soul-song of praise, to drink deeply from the Living Water, to sit in the Presence and to listen to the voice of the Beloved.

The call to spirituality is of all those faith traditions that seek the Divine.  Its history is recorded in  Holy Scriptures and in the living stories of the holy ones throughout the ages.

                                     WHY GO TO CHURCH?

If you are spiritually alive, you're going to love this!!!  If you're spiritually dead, you won't want to read it.  If you're spiritually curious, there is still hope!!  This is a true story:

A church goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday.  "I've gone for 30 years now, he wrote, "and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 sermons.  But for the life of me, I can't remember a single one of them.  So, I think I'm wasting my time and the pastors are wasting theirs by giving sermons at all.  This started a real controversy in the "Letters to the Editor" column, much to the delight of the editor.  It went on for weeks until someone wrote this clincher,  "I've been married for thirty years now.  In that time my wife has cooked some 32,000 meals.  But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one of those meals.  But I do know this.....They all nourished me and gave me the srength I needed to do my work.  If my wife had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today.  Likewise, if I had not gone to church for nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today!!

About Tycomom0423

I am excited to have found a site like this! I really like helping people and feel that is important to turn to others when you need help. I believe that joy in life can be found by bringing a little more joy to someone elses life. I am only 25 but have had my share fair of struggles and heartbreak; from growing up in foster care, to going to college and earning a BA in Psychology, learning to make it on my own and trying to find my way in this world as a young adult. I have felt the joy of the first love and the earth shattering soul-throbbing pain of losing that love. I have struggled financially and know the stress of just getting by. Its all apart of my journey and my hope is that I can share the lessons I have learned from these experiences. Interests: I love learning and researching, I have a dog, a Shih Tzu named Tyco. I love Comedy, being outdoors, going out to eat, I like cosmetology, science, health, and spirituality. I love reading stuff by Dr. Wayne Dyer and Loiuse Hay...

This describes my view of the world, its by Bertrand Russell, Enjoy!

Three passions have governed my life:
The longings for love, the search for knowledge,
And unbearable pity for the suffering of humankind.

Love brings ecstasy and relieves loneliness.
In the union of love I have seen
In a mystic miniature the prefiguring vision
Of the heavens that saints and poets have imagined.

With equal passion I have sought knowledge.
I have wished to understand the hearts of people.
I have wished to know why the stars shine.

Love and knowledge led upwards to the heavens,
But always pity brought me back to earth;
Cries of pain reverberated in my heart
Of children in famine, of victims tortured
And of old people left helpless.
I long to alleviate the evil, but I cannot,
And I too suffer.

This has been my life; I found it worth living.

What is Spirituality

First and foremost, I pray that everyone had a blessed Christmas holiday. I would like to thank God for allowing me the growth and opportunities I have been afforded in 2008, I trully believe that 2009 is going to be even better.

I often tell people that I am on a spiritual journey, meaning that I have had to come away from what I was doing before and take a deeper look inside for answers about me. So you may ask, what is spirituality? Read More
